I recently watched a dvd by Jefferey Watts, who has a very loose and fun way of painting portraits and figures. Have a look on his website to see some of his work at
jeffereywatts.com He suggested in his video that it is a great exercise to loosen up your painting style by doing 30 minute (gesture) portraits. Not to get too hung up on the end result - but just to have fun with colour and brushwork. So I've decided to make this one of my practices. It was a lot of fun.
