The joys of charcoal!! Every Sunday I join a group of artists and we spend 3 or 4 hours with a model. Lately I have been using charcoal and am having so much fun. The surface is a mid tone brown "kraft" paper. It is stronger than the usual newsprint. I use vine charcoal, black and white charcoal for the lights and darks and the colour of the paper fills in the mid tones.
I find these sessions a great way to keep my eye to hand coordination strong. There are several life drawing opportunities now in the city.
