Canadian Landscape Painting

Moraine 9 x 12 Oil Knife Painting $450 Framed

This is another example of a knife painting that I did for my students at the Calgary School of Art.

I really need to get out to the mountains to get some new reference.  I have done several paintings of Moraine Lake and the Three Sisters varying the crop and sizes.  The risk of bear encounters has kept me from hiking in the mountains but I think I just need to get over my fear and get on with it =)

No, be afraid and stay safe! I won't hike the Blue Ridge anymore for the same reason.

Absolutely awesome painting, gorgeous in not too strong a word. You captured the power and beauty of the wilderness.
